True love shows compassion regardless of race, religion, or social status. We are called to be neighbors to all.
Look for opportunities to show practical love and mercy to those in need, especially those different from you.

A young man demanded his inheritance, left home, wasted everything, but returned repentant. His father welcomed him with celebration.
God's love is unconditional. No matter how far we've strayed, God eagerly welcomes us back when we repent.

The kingdom of heaven is so valuable that it's worth sacrificing everything else to obtain it.

A master gave talents to his servants according to their ability. Two invested and doubled their talents, but one buried his in fear.
God gives us gifts and abilities to use for His kingdom. We're accountable for how we use what He's given us.
Use your gifts, talents, and resources actively for God's kingdom rather than hiding them out of fear.
Matthew 13:31-32
Though the mustard seed is tiny, it grows into a large tree where birds can nest in its branches.
The kingdom of heaven starts small but grows to have tremendous influence and provide shelter for many.
Don't despise small beginnings in your faith or ministry. Trust God to bring growth in His time.
Find the main point: Most parables teach one central truth. Don't over-interpret every detail.
Consider the context: Who was Jesus speaking to? What was the situation that prompted this story?
Look for the kingdom connection: Most parables reveal something about God's kingdom and our place in it.
Apply personally: Ask how this truth should change your thinking, attitudes, or actions.
